Defendant Entered Guilty Plea to
Distributing Drugs in Marion County

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 27 year old federal defendant entered a plea of guilty on July 12, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that RUFUS DIXON entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession of cocaine and marijuana with the intent to distribute on February 24, 2011, in Marion County. DIXON, who is in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force and the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The Task Force consists of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Monongah Police Department.
