Five Central West Virginia Residents
Entered Guilty Pleas in Federal Court

 

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Five individuals entered guilty pleas on June 27, 2011, and June 29, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

CHASTY ANDERSON, age 22, of Sardis, West Virginia, entered pleas of guilty to two counts of an Indictment charging her with conspiracy to distribute heroin from April 2010 to April 2011 in Harrison County; and possessing, concealing, and disposing of stolen firearms on December 20, 2010, in Bridgeport. ANDERSON, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000 on the conspiracy count; and a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on the firearms count.

MICHAEL ROSS CAWTHON, age 24, of Gassaway, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of West Virginia Junior College in Bridgeport, West Virginia, on November 29, 2010. CAWTHON, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

ADAM SCOTT FREEMAN, age 28, of Clarksburg, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging FREEMAN, a convicted felon, with possessing three firearms on December 1 and 2, 2010, in Bridgeport. FREEMAN, who is currently in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

DESTINY JENKINS, age 19, also of Clarksburg, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging her with distributing heroin within 1,000 feet of Adamston Elementary School in Clarksburg on December 21, 2010. JENKINS, who is currently in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The cases were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Harrison County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bridgeport Police Department.

LARRY DALTON BAILEY, age 33, of Ireland, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession of equipment, chemical, product and material used to manufacture methamphetamine on April 21, 2010 in Randolph County. BAILEY, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a find of $250,000. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
