Burlington Man Sentenced for Counterfeiting

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 32 year old Burlington, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on January 25, 2011, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that DONALD N. DAVEY, II, was sentenced to three months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. DAVEY entered a plea of guilty to one count of counterfeiting. When executing a search warrant at DAVEY’s home on April 26, 2010, the West Virginia State Police discovered $1,780.00 in counterfeit United States currency in his possession. DAVEY is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police and the United States Secret Service.
