Clarksburg Resident Enters Plea
to Possession of Stolen Mail

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 57 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty today (August 15, 2011) in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: GEORGE JUNIOR JONES, SR. entered a plea of guilty to one count of unlawful possession of mail which had been stolen from an authorized depository for mail matter on September 13, 2010, in Shinnston, West Virginia. JONES, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 5 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police.
