Elkins Resident Resentenced on Firearms Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 27-year old Elkins, West Virginia, resident was resentenced on August 8, 2011, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that: PAUL G. HIMES, JR. was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. HIMES entered a plea of guilty on October 27, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possessing, concealing, and selling a stolen firearm on December 2, 2008, in Elkins. HIMES was originally sentenced on March 19, 2010, to 34 months imprisonment and upon an appeal of that sentence, was resentenced to the 21 months.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
