Wheeling Resident Sentenced on
Firearms Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 40 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on October 15, 2010, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that THOMAS CHVASTA was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment to be followed by two years of supervised release. CHVASTA entered a plea of guilty on August 16, 2010, to one count of possession of firearms by an individual previously convicted on a domestic violence violation. CHVASTA, who is free on bond, will self-report to a designated federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
