Fairmont Resident Entered Guilty Plea
To Cocaine Conspiracy

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 44 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on May 12, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JEROME TATE, also known as PEDRO, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, also known as “coke,” and cocaine base, also known as “crack,” from September 2009 to February 3, 2010, in Fairmont.

As part of his plea, TATE agreed to forfeit $3,694.90 in United States Currency seized during the execution of a search warrant.

TATE, who is currently in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr. The case was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
