Wheeling Resident Sentenced for
Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premise

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 29 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on July 6, 2010, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that CURTISTEENE HARRISON was sentenced to 57 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. HARRISON entered a plea of guilty on April 9, 2010, to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premise from December of 2008 to March of 2009 in Wheeling.

As part of a six-month investigation into “crack” cocaine distributions in the Wheeling area by individuals from Cleveland and Detroit, information was developed that the Detroit group had moved their operation to an apartment in Wheeling. As part of her plea, HARRISON admitted more than 150 grams of “crack” cocaine was distributed from her apartment.

The sentence of imprisonment in this case will run consecutively to a sentence of 12 months HARRISON is currently serving for violating terms of her supervised release from her 2001 federal drug conviction. HARRISON was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr. The case was investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crime Task Force. The Task Force consists of officers from the Wheeling Police Department, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
