Two Eastern Panhandle Residents Entered
Guilty Pleas to Firearms Violations
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two Eastern Panhandle residents entered guilty pleas on July 1, 2010, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that:
ARTHUR HAIRSTON, JR., age 31, of Martinsburg, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a handgun on December 11, 2009. HAIRSTON, who is currently in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000. The case was investigated by the Martinsburg Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
MICHAEL LYNN ROBINSON, age 52, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, entered a plea of guilty to a one-count Indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a revolver on July 28, 2008. ROBINSON, who is currently in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti.
