Hedgesville Resident Entered Guilty Plea
To Heroin Charge

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 51 year old Hedgesville, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty today (August 23, 2010) in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that WILLIAM STEFANKO entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute heroin on March 15, 2009, at his residence in Hedgesville. STEFANKO, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
