Weston Resident Sentenced on “Crack” Cocaine Charge

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 34 year old Weston, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on August 24, 2010, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that ERIC HARRIS was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment to be followed by five years supervised release. HARRIS entered a plea of guilty on October 19, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute “crack” cocaine on May 27, 2007, in Weston.

HARRIS is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
