Sutton Resident Sentenced for Making
a False Statement before a Federal Grand Jury

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 31 year old Sutton, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on August 18, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that JEREMY DEAL was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment to be followed by two years supervised release. DEAL entered a plea of guilty on April 29, 2010, to one count of an Indictment charging him with making a material false statement while testifying before a Federal Grand Jury on November 3, 2009. DEAL is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
