Brooke County Resident Enters Plea to Cocaine Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 19 year old Colliers, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty today (August 24, 2010), in United States District Court in Wheeling before Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that DAVEN BARISH entered a plea of guilty to one count of distribution of cocaine on April 16, 2010, in Colliers. As part of his plea, BARISH agreed to the forfeiture of digital scales, $780 of drug proceeds and two firearms that were discovered during a search warrant executed at his residence and also admitted to being involved in the distribution of between 50 and 100 grams of cocaine. BARISH, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr and was investigated by the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
