Shinnston Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Misappropriation of Postal Funds

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 30 year old Shinnston, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on April 21, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that CARLA EVANS entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging her with the misappropriation of postal funds from December 12, 2008, to September 30, 2009, in Wyatt, Harrison County, West Virginia.

EVANS, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service - Office of Inspector General.
