Wheeling Resident Enters Guilty Plea
To Firearms Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 31 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty today (April 9, 2010), in United States District Court in Wheeling before Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that BRYAN L. BROOMES entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of a firearm on November 6, 2009, after having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year. BROOMES, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of ten years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
