Clarksburg Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Distributing “Crack” within 1,000 Feet
of Monticello Avenue Playground

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 35 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on September 15, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ANGELA MARIA CAIN entered a plea of guilty to a one-count Information charging her with aiding and abetting in the distribution of cocaine base, also known as “crack,” on October 2, 2008, within 1,000 feet of Monticello Avenue Playground in Clarksburg.

CAIN, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
