Elkins Resident Entered Guilty Plea to Firearms Violation

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Elkins, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on October 27, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins before Judge Robert E. Maxwell.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that PAUL G. HIMES, JR. entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with possessing, concealing, and selling a stolen firearm on December 2, 2008, in Elkins.

HIMES, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
