Two Charles Town Residents Entered
Guilty Pleas to Drug Charges

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two Charles Town, West Virginia, residents entered guilty pleas on May 14 and May 18, 2009, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that:

MATTHEW JENKINS, age 36, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of “crack” cocaine on May 1, 2008, in Charles Town.

MICHAEL JENKINS, age 38, entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with aiding and abetting the distribution of “crack” cocaine on March 19, 2008, in Charles Town.

The defendants, who are currently free on bond pending sentencing, face a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The cases were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Charles Town Police Department.
