Inmate Enters Plea and is Sentenced
on Assault Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 23 year old federal inmate entered a plea and was sentenced on March 24, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MELVIN QUICK entered a plea of guilty to one count of charging him with assault by striking, beating or wounding another inmate on October 6, 2008, at USP Hazelton. QUICK was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment to be consecutive to the sentence he is currently serving.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David E. Godwin. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigative Services at FCI Hazelton.
