Bruceton Mills Resident Sentenced on Embezzlement Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 43 year old Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 3, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MARLA J. NINER was sentenced to one day imprisonment to be followed by five years supervised release and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $31,272.52. NINER entered a plea of guilty on October 1, 2008, to an Information charging her with embezzling $31,272.52 from BB&T Bank in Morgantown, West Virginia, in June 2005.

The funds of BB&T Bank are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and was investigated by the United States Secret Service.
