Clarksburg Resident Sentenced to 8+ Years
On Drug & Firearm Violations

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 4, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ROBERT E. JONES, also known as RUTHY, was sentenced to 106 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. JONES entered guilty pleas on November 7, 2008, to two counts of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride, also known as “coke,” on February 26, 2008, in Harrison County; and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking offense on February 26, 2008.

JONES is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
