Two Individuals Sentenced on Drug Charges

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two individuals were sentenced on March 23, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that:

DANITA HOLYFIELD, age 37, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. HOLYFIELD entered a plea of guilty on December 4, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging her with the distribution of “crack” cocaine on March 19, 2008, in Shinnston. HOLYFIELD, who is currently free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal institution.

COREY GRAY, also known as “DUTCH”, age 19, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 87 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. GRAY entered a plea of guilty on December 3, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute “crack” cocaine on November 16, 2007, in Bridgeport, Harrison County, West Virginia. GRAY was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations; and the Three Rivers Drug Task Force. The Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force consists of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The Three Rivers Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
