Buckhannon Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Methamphetamine Charge

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 38 year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on June 4, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins before Judge Robert E. Maxwell.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MARK CHRISTOPHER HEATER entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with knowingly possessing a chemical to be used to manufacture methamphetamine on February 14, 2009, in Upshur County.

HEATER, who is currently in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
