Hagerstown, Maryland, Resident Entered
Guilty Pleas to “Crack” Cocaine Charges

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 23 year old Hagerstown, Maryland, resident entered guilty pleas on July 10, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ANDREW CHRISTOPHER KEYES entered guilty pleas to two counts of an Indictment charging him with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine base, also known as “crack,” from October 2008 to July 2009; and one count of possession with intent to distribute “crack” cocaine on October 18, 2008, in Monongalia County.

KEYES faces a maximum penalty of 10 years to life imprisonment on the conspiracy count; and 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000 on the possession count.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
