Pennsboro Resident Sentenced to 9 ½ Years
on Methamphetamine-Related Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 49 year old Pennsboro, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on January 20, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that GALE KING was sentenced to 114 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. KING entered a plea of guilty on October 8, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with knowingly possessing and distributing Pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine. KING’s sentence was increased five months because he lied to the Court about drug usage during the plea hearing.
KING is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police with assistance from the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
