Martinsburg Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Manufacturing Methamphetamine

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 43 year old Martinsburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on January 26, 2009, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that CARMEN PAOLO pled guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with manufacturing methamphetamine on October 29, 2008. A search warrant was executed at PAOLO’s residence on October 29, 2008, and evidence of a working meth lab was seized.

PAOLO, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of five to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti. The case was investigated by the Washington County, Maryland, Task Force.
