Two Defendants Sentenced on Powder Cocaine Charges
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two defendants were sentenced on February 23, 2009, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that:
MIQUEAS CRUZ MARTINEZ, age 21, of Ranson, West Virginia, was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. MARTINEZ entered a plea of guilty on October 21, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute powder cocaine on June 24, 2008. MARTINEZ is in federal custody. The case was investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; the Drug Enforcement Administration; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
GUTEMBERG DOMINGUEZ VASQUEZ, age 42, of Stephen City, Virginia, was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. VASQUEZ entered a plea of guilty on November 20, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of powder cocaine on September 6, 2008. VASQUEZ is in federal custody. The case was investigated by the Washington County Drug Task Force.
The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti.
