Hambleton Resident Entered Guilty Plea
To Marijuana Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 50 year old Hambleton, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on January 26, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins before Judge Robert E. Maxwell.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that RICHARD DENNIS BERNIER, JR. entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of marijuana in Hambleton in January 2005. BERNIER, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
