ROBIE T. CARTER, 42, of Vancouver, Washington, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Seattle to charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in violation of federal law. This felony offense is punishable by not less than five years and up to forty years imprisonment, a $2,000,000 fine, and a period of federal supervised release to follow imprisonment of not less than four years.

In pleading guilty, CARTER admitted that during 2007, in Clark County, he was involved in selling and distributing cocaine. On March 22, 2007, a search warrant was executed at CARTER’s residence on NE 16th Avenue, in Vancouver, Washington. In excess of 500 grams of cocaine, intended for distribution to others, and a small quantity of cocaine base (“crack”) was recovered, along with $15,900 cash from the sale of cocaine, and distribution paraphernalia, including drug scales. Inside a night stand by his bed was a loaded Glock 22 .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol. All of this contraband was seized by law enforcement and CARTER was ordered detained pending trial.

CARTER is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ronald B. Leighton on January 4, 2007. CARTER’s residence is currently the subject of federal forfeiture proceedings.

This case was investigated by the Clark-Skamania Task Force, Vancouver Police Department, Camas Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, Portland, Oregon.
