MEXICAN NATIONAL SENTENCED TO 60 MONTHS IN PRISON FOR METHAMPHETAMINE TRAFFICKING
Defendant delivered three pounds of Meth to informant in Tacoma Mall parking lot
ABEL LUNA-CEJUDO, 34, of Seattle, Washington was sentenced today to 60 months in prison and 5 years of supervised release for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. Since he was in the country illegally, LUNA-CEJUDO will be deported following his prison term. LUNA-CEJUDO is the last of four defendants to be sentenced in connection with a conspiracy to sell three pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential law enforcement source.
LUNA-CEJUDO was arrested June 28, 2005, after co-conspirator Alejandro Orozco-Castaneda arranged to sell three pounds of fairly pure methamphetamine to a confidential law enforcement source at the Tacoma Mall. The price for the meth was $9,500 per pound. Four men were arrested at the drug deal in the parking lot. Orozco-Castaneda was sentenced in March 2006, to six years in prison and five years of supervised release. Alejandro Jiminez-Magallon was sentenced June 2, 2006 to ten years in prison and five years of supervised release. Ismael Espino-Zamora was sentenced June 2, 2006 to five years in prison and five years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the DEA/ TNET Task Force comprised of DEA agents and local law enforcement officers from Tacoma Police, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Department of Corrections, Bonney Lake Police and Auburn Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Douglas J. Hill. Hill is a Deputy Pierce County Prosecutor who is specially designated to handle drug cases in Federal Court.
