GABRIEL K. LETOTO, 20, of Marysville, Washington was sentenced today to four years in prison for Possession of Child Pornography. LETOTO pleaded guilty in March 2005, and as part of that plea agreement will be subject to ten years of supervised release following his prison term. Government prosecutors asked for the lengthy term of supervised release noting that it was "profoundly disturbing" that someone at such a young age is involved with possessing and distributing child pornography. U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour also recommended that LETOTO be placed in a sexual deviancy treatment program during his incarceration.

According to the plea agreement, the investigation of LETOTO began in December 2003 when a Pennsylvania State Police investigator in the Computer Crimes Division discovered a person on the internet offering access to a file server containing child pornography. The file server activity was traced to LETOTO. A search of his computer revealed more than 500 images of child pornography and about 100 digital video clips of known or suspected child pornography. According to court records LETOTO was also posting explicit images on commercial web sites and charging a membership fee.

In court today LETOTO assured Judge Coughenour he knew he had "made a mistake... and that it would never happen again." LETOTO asked the Judge to order counseling for him so that he could "be treated for his problems."

The case was investigated by U.S. Postal Inspection Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Susan B. Dohrmann.
