"Richard Conn Sentenced to 19 Years as a Career Offender"
Spokane – Michael C. Ormsby, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, announced that on November 2, 2011, Richard Lee Conn, 43, of Pasco, Washington, was sentenced to 235 months of imprisonment. On June 6, 2011, Mr. Conn pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Because of an extensive criminal history, Mr. Conn was sentenced as a career offender.
On November 12, 2010, a search warrant was served at Mr. Conn's residence. When the Tri Cities Violent Gang Task Force entered the apartment, Mr. Conn was seen coming from a window in his bedroom. The screen to the window was pushed out. Officers located a gun on the ground directly beneath Mr. Conn's bedroom window. When questioned, Mr. Conn said that he had purchased the gun. Mr. Conn had previously been convicted of Delivery of Cocaine, Criminal Solicitation Second Degree Arson, and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Michael C. Ormsby, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, said, "Richard Conn has made a career out of breaking the law. The State and Federal partnerships through the Tri Cities Metro and the Tri Cities Violent Gang Task Force were able to successfully investigate Mr. Conn's illegal activities and bring him to justice."
This investigation was conducted by law enforcement officers of many agencies, including Tri Cities Metro; the Tri Cities Violent Gang Task Force which includes members of the Kennewick Police Department, Pasco Police Department, Richland Police Department, Franklin and Benton County Sheriff's Offices and the Washington State Patrol; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and the United States Marshal Service.
