LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA -- A mother and her three sons have been charged with conspiring to sell methamphetamine in the Rockbridge, Rockingham and Augusta County areas of Central Virginia since at least 2004.

Last week, a federal grand in Roanoke returned a sealed indictment charging Camilla Ramirez, a.k.a. “Momma”, age 49, of Buena Vista, Nathan Conner, age 29, of Waynesboro, Anthony Conner, age 27, of Buena Vista and David Allen Taylor Jr., age 31, of Buena Vista, with a variety of charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine. The Grand Jury has charged each defendant with one count of conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In addition, Taylor has been charged with five counts of distributing methamphetamine and Ramirez has been charged with two counts of distributing methamphetamine. The indictment was unsealed yesterday afternoon following the initial court appearances of the defendants.

The investigation of the case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Rockbridge Regional Task Force, which is made up of officers from the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, the Lexington Police Department and the Buena Vista Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Thomas Cullen is prosecuting the case for the United States.

A Grand Jury indictment is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the government to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
