CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA -- A Federal Grand jury sitting in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville has charged a pair of Central Virginia residents with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Harold David Dyer, 40, of Leon, Va. and Dwain Williams, 43, of Gordonsville, Va., have each been charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine.

This case was brought through the work of a joint investigation between the Drug Enforcement Administration- Richmond District Office and the Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Robert Abendroth.

The Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional task force responsible for narcotic and drug investigations in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, Orange and the towns of Culpeper and Orange. The task force is comprised of detectives and investigators from the aforementioned Sheriff’s Offices, town police departments and special agents from the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Drug Enforcement Section.

A Grand Jury indictment is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the government to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
