Chester Woman Charged With Methamphetamine Conspiracy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 19, 2011

RICHMOND, Va. – Jennifer Marie Patterson, 33, of Chester, Virginia, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.

Neil J. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Ava Cooper-Davis, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Washington Division Office; and Bryan Norwood, Chief of the Richmond Police Department, made the announcement after the plea was received by United States Magistrate Judge M. Hannah.  Patterson will be formally sentenced on September 9, 2011, by United States District Robert E. Payne.

According to the plea documents, Patterson,  who is a 2011 graduate of the University of Richmond Law School, and others conspired to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine from 2007 until March of 2009.  Patterson admitted to distributing between 500 grams and 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Patterson was part of a loosely confederated group of methamphetamine dealers in central Virginia.  Collectively, these dealers were obtaining methamphetamine from other California, Oregon, Washington State and Washington, D.C.  The methamphetamine would be shipped by federal express and couriers between these different places.

The guilty plea is part of Operation Endgame, a major Organized Crime Drug Task Force investigation by the DEA and Richmond Police Department into the trafficking of methamphetamine.  The investigation, which began in the fall of 2007, is continuing.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Richmond Division.  Assistant United States Attorney David T. Maguire is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.
