SERIAL BANK ROBBER PLEADS GUILTY

Defendant Robbed Two Banks in One Day and Robbed the Same Bank Twice

DALLAS — Patrick Wynard Wallace, of Dallas, pled guilty today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul D. Stickney to five counts of bank robbery, announced acting U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. Wallace admitted robbing five Bank of America branches in Dallas. He robbed one of the banks twice, and committed two bank robberies in the same day.

During each of the robberies, Wallace handed the bank employee a note demanding money. Wallace admitted committing the following bank robberies from January through March 2008:

Each of the bank robbery counts carries a maximum statutory sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, however, the government has agreed to recommend to the Court that any term of imprisonment run concurrently with one another. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn in June 2009.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Dallas Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Tromblay is the prosecutor.
