BANK ROBBER SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON,
WITHOUT PAROLE

DALLAS
— Ronald Davison, 51, of Dallas, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jane J. Boyle to serve 14 years in federal prison for robbing a Capital One Bank branch in Carrollton, Texas, in 2007, announced James T. Jacks, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

In a plea agreement entered into with the government, Davison admitted that he robbed the Capital One Bank located at 2630 Old Denton Road in Carrollton on Monday, July 2, 2007.

Davison was charged in a federal indictment returned by a grand jury on September 25, 2007, and was arrested shortly thereafter. According to a detention ordered entered by the Court on November 14, 2007, testimony presented at that hearing established that Davison went into the Capital One Bank branch and gave the teller a note demanding money, with no die packs. He obtained the cash from the teller and left the bank without incident. A surveillance camera recorded the robbery and Davison later admitted that he was the person shown on the surveillance tape. The order goes on to state that the “defendant has an extensive criminal history spanning thirty years, including previous convictions for bank robbery, robbery and possession with intent to deliver and delivery of controlled substances.”

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Kull.
