TARRANT COUNTY MAN SENTENCED IN CHILD PORN CASE

FORT WORTH, Texas — Christopher Allen Page of Fort Worth, Texas, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge John McBryde to 78 months (6 ½ years) in federal prison, without parole, for possessing child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas. In addition, Page must register as a sex offender and serve a lifetime of supervised release.

Page pled guilty in June to a one-count information charging him with possession of child pornography. According to documents filed in Court, on July 19, 2007, Special Agents with the FBI visited Page at his residence based on a lead from the FBI office in Detroit. The lead concerned a target at the Page residence, who was sharing child pornography videos via the Internet. Page agreed to allow the agents to search his computer, where they discovered videos and images of child pornography. Page admitted he knowingly possessed and acquired the video and images, which included images of real children, on his computer from the Internet. Along with his guilty plea, Page agreed to forfeit the computer and property he used to commit or to promote the commission of his offense.

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative work of the FBI. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex C. Lewis.
