Chatman and an accomplice known as the “Ms. December Bandit,” a 16-year-old female currently being held in the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Facility, committed eight bank robberies between December 6 and December 30, 2005. She was arrested on December 30, 2005 following the robbery of the Chase Bank on Preston Road and was certified as an adult in Dallas County in March 2006. She faces multiple State bank robbery charges. Chatman admitted that he and this female agreed to assist each other in robbing several banks in and around Dallas. Chatman would pick up this female from high school and they would go rob banks. Generally the female would enter the bank and approach a teller, handing the teller a note demanding money and stating that she had a gun. She would depart the banks with the money, meet Chatman outside the bank, then they would depart the bank together and Chatman would return her back to school. She and Chatman split the proceeds from the robberies.

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dallas, Richardson, Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, Desoto, Irving and Plano Police Departments. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Rick Calvert.
