LARGE-SCALE CRACK DEALER FROM SOUTH DALLAS Defendant Faces Up to Life Imprisonment United States Attorney Richard B. Roper announced that Dallas resident, Montreal Blair, pled guilty today before the Honorable Jane J. Boyle, United States District Judge, to one count of a federal indictment charging distribution of 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack cocaine). Blair, age 27, faces a statutory minimum of 10 years imprisonment and a statutory maximum of life imprisonment, as well as a $4 million fine. In addition, Blair also has agreed to forfeit eight firearms that he used in the course of his illegal drug dealings, as well as more than $2000 cash, to the government. A sentencing date of November 16, 2006 was set. A federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment against Blair in May 2006 charging him with four separate violations of distribution of 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack cocaine). Since March 2003, until his arrest in February 2006, Blair trafficked large amounts of crack cocaine and powder cocaine in Dallas. # # #
