Flandreau Man Pleads Guilty to Assault

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Darwin Crow, age 48, of Flandreau, appeared before US District Judge Karen E. Schreier on February 15, 2012, and pled guilty to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

Crow stabbed the victim with a knife during an argument. The investigation was conducted by the Flandreau Police Department and the FBI. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant US Attorney Thomas J. Wright.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for May 14, 2012. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal pending sentencing.
