Felon Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison For Possessing Stolen Gun
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., waived prosecution by indictment and pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal firearms laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Robert Cornelius Johnson, 57, pleaded guilty to one count before Chief United States District Judge Gary L. Lancaster.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that on Oct. 28, 2007, Johnson knowingly and unlawfully possessed a stolen firearm.
Immediately following his guilty plea, Judge Lancaster sentenced Johnson to 84 months in prison, to be followed by three years supervised release, on his conviction of violating the federal firearms laws.
Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Robert Cornelius Johnson.
