Pittsburgh Man Charged With Possessing Cocaine
PITTSBURGH, Pa. ‑ A resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of possession with intent to distribute less than 500 grams of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one‑count indictment, returned on May 17, 2011, named Joseph Dees a/k/a Joseph Lee, 51, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, on or about April 25, 2011, Joseph Dees a/k/a/ Joseph Lee, possessed less than 500 grams of cocaine with the intent to distribute the cocaine.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
