Butler County Man Sentenced To Prison For Robbing Tarentum Bank
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 8, 2010, that on June 7, 2010, Alan D. Truckley, a resident of Valencia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 37 months in prison followed by 3 years supervised release on his conviction of bank robbery. Additionally, Truckley was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8.00 to First National Bank.
United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti imposed the sentence on Truckley, age 52.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Almon S. Burke, Jr., on November 25, 2009, Truckley robbed the First National Bank, located at 306 East 6th Avenue, Tarentum, Pennsylvania. As a result of the robbery, Truckley obtained $1,091.00. Truckley was apprehended within an hour of committing the robbery which also resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen money. Truckley subsequently confessed to committing the robbery.
Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tarentum Borough Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Truckley.
