Johnstown Man Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison For Selling Crack Near Playground

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, June 8, 2010, that Quan J. Britt, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to  60 months in prison, to be followed by eight years supervised release, on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws.

United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Britt, age 33.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines, on October 30, 2008, Britt alone, and on January 12, 2009, Britt and a co-defendant distributed five grams or more of cocaine base commonly known as "crack" within 1,000 feet of a playground.

Mr. Cessar commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, Pennsylvania State Police, Johnstown Police Department, and Cambria County Drug Task Force for  the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Britt.
