Altoona Crack Cocaine Dealer Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Acting United States Attorney Robert S. Cessar announced today, April 7, 2010, that Lewis H. Ervin, III, a resident of Altoona, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to 262 months (21 years/10 months) imprisonment and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating various federal narcotics laws.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Ervin, age 33.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., from April 14 to 21, 2009, Ervin and a co-defendant conspired to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, commonly known as "crack." In addition, on four separate occasions during that time period, Ervin distributed less than five grams of cocaine base, and on April 21, 2009, he possessed with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base.
Mr. Cessar commended the Altoona Police Department and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Ervin.
