Federal Grand Jury Criminal Indictments Announced
Thomas Scott Woodward, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, announces the results of the March 2011 Federal Grand Jury. The following named individuals have been charged with a federal crime or crimes by the return of an indictment by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing the defendant of alleged violations which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome the defendant's presumption of innocence.
Steven Thompson Keeling
Murder in Indian Country Keeling, 48, of Hominy, Oklahoma, a non-Indian, is charged with the January 17, 2011, murder by firearm of Edward Brown, an Indian citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) tribe. Brown was allegedly killed at his residence south of Bixby in Leonard, Oklahoma, on land which is a restricted Indian allotment.
Kimberly Gayle Ward
Embezzlement and Theft in Excess of $1,000 from an Indian Tribal Organization. Ward, 20, of Westville, Oklahoma, is accused of embezzling and stealing over $1,000 from the Cherokee Nation Outside Smoke Shop located at the Cherokee West Siloam Casino in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, between December 7, 2010, and January 6, 2011. Ward was employed at the smoke shop during that time frame.
Kelly Jean Sartin and Melinda Jane McAfee and Rusty Lee Wallin
Conspiracy, Theft by Employee of Gaming Establishment on Indian Land in Excess of $1,000. The defendants are charged in a conspiracy to defraud The Stables Casino in Miami, operated by the Modoc Tribe, of thousands of dollars. Sartin, who was employed as a blackjack dealer at the casino, would allegedly steal gaming chips in $100 dominations from her gaming table during the course of her workday. It is alleged that she later surreptitiously passed the stolen chips to McAfee and Wallin, who then brought the chips back into the casino and redeemed them for cash. Sartin, 30, and McAfee, 45, are from Fairland. Wallin, 28, is from Miami.
Enrique Rivera De La Cruz
Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 23, a citizen of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on February 13, 2011. He was previously deported and removed from the U.S. at Brownsville, Texas, in December 2009.
Jose Robledo
Alien in the United States after Deportation. Robledo, 39, a citizen of Mexico, was allegedly found in the Tulsa County Jail on February 16, 2011. He was previously deported and removed from the U.S. at Del Rio, Texas, in February 2009.
Michael Anthony Bider
Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking Crime. Bider, 23, of Mason, Arizona, was allegedly caught in Tulsa on November 13, 2010, in the act of trafficking in methamphetamine. He was also allegedly in possession of a Glock semi-auto pistol. Bider has four previous felony drug convictions from the State of Arizona received in 2008.

There were six indictments returned by the Grand Jury that remain sealed. There were no superseding indictments.
