Federal Grand Jury Criminal Indictments Announced

Thomas Scott Woodward, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, announces the results of the January 2011 Federal Grand Jury.

The following named individuals have been charged with a federal crime or crimes by the return of an indictment by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing the defendant of alleged violations which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome the defendant's presumption of innocence.


Omar Paez-Perez

Possession of Firearm and Ammunition by Alien Illegally in the United States. The defendant, 33, a citizen of Mexico residing in Sapulpa, was allegedly found in possession of a 7.62x39 semi-auto pistol and 32 rounds of ammunition on December 10, 2010.

Jerome Jermaine Cole

Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. Cole, 23, of Tulsa, was allegedly found in possession of a .380 caliber semi-auto pistol and nine rounds of ammunition on August 19, 2010. He has two previous felony convictions including a 2004 conviction for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer from Creek County District Court and a drug possession conviction in 2007 from Tulsa County District Court.

Benny George Taylor, Jr.

Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition. The defendant, 31, of Tulsa, is accused of having a .22 caliber revolver and ammunition in his possession on August 4, 2010, and possessing a .380 semi-auto pistol and 57 rounds of ammunition on August 13, 2010. A third count charges him with having two 9mm pistols and 77 rounds of ammunition in his possession on September 13, 2010. Taylor has three previous felony convictions from Tulsa County District Court he received in 1999, which include drug possession, shooting with intent to kill and using a vehicle to facilitate discharge of a weapon.

Jose Jesus Gonzalez-Alvarez

Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant,35,of Mexico,wasallegedly found in the Tulsa CountyJailon December5,2010. He was previously deported and removed from the U.S. at Laredo, Texas, on November 21, 2000.

Cesar Humberto Lopez-Galindo

Alien in the United States after Deportation. The defendant, 25, of Mexico, was allegedly found in the Tulsa County Jail on December 20, 2010. He was previously deported and removed from the U.S. at Nogales, Arizona, on January 23, 2009.

Sealed and Superseding Indictments

There was one indictment returned by the Grand Jury that remains sealed. There were no superseding indictments.
