Federal Grand Jury Criminal Indictments Announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 16, 2011

Thomas Scott Woodward, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, announces the results of the February 2011 Federal Grand Jury. The following named individuals have been charged with a federal crime or crimes by the return of an indictment by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing the defendant of alleged violations which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome the defendant's presumption of innocence.

 

Bryan Oates

Possess Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Unlawful User of Controlled Substance in Possession of Firearm. Oates, 39, of Tulsa, is accused of trafficking in marijuana and having a .40 caliber pistol in his possession on July 27, 2010 (while being an unlawful drug user).

Trenton Garrett Hammer

TheftbyEmployee ofGaming Establishmenton Indian Land. Hammer, 20, of Westville, Oklahoma, while employed by the Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, is accused of stealing in excess of $1,000 from the casino between December 23-25, 2010.

Alfredo Hernandez-Miranda

Alien in the United States After Deportation. The defendant, age 46, a citizen of Mexico, was allegedly found in Tulsa on January 6, 2011, after having been previously deported and removed from the U.S. at Brownsville, Texas, on September 12, 1989.

Sealed and Superseding Indictments

There were eight indictments returned by the Grand Jury that remain sealed. There were no superseding indictments.
