Tulsa Man Sentenced to Prison for Failure to File Income Tax Return

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 19, 2010

Acting U.S. Attorney Thomas Scott Woodward announced that a 45 year-old man was sentenced today for failure to file a federal income tax return in 2007.

Anthony Kevin Slicker, of Tulsa, was sentenced to 12 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons by U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Cleary. Slicker plead guilty last June to an Information filed by the U.S. Attorneys Office in May 2009, charging him with Failure to File Income Tax Return. Slicker admitted that during the calendar year of 2006 he had received gross income of $265,377, and that he failed to file any income tax return as required in April 2007.

The crime was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph F. Wilson represented the government in this case.

There is no possibility of parole in the federal system and it is likely that most individuals will serve all or most of the time imposed by the court. There are provisions for inmates to earn a sentence reduction for good behavior, however this reduction will not exceed 15 % of the overall sentence.
